West Marin Hills in Evening Haze (2005)

This is an aerial shot of western Marin County, northwest of San Francisco, made from a light plane, looking south.  I had gone out with my pilot-husband hoping to get pictures of the Point Reyes lighthouse at sunset.  Incoming coastal stratus was forming a haze layer -- a common situation on the California coast -- which made this lovely picture.  I didn't get the lighthouse pictures I had hoped for, because the fog was much thicker at the lighthouse, but instead got something better -- this one and "Fog, Lighthouse Point" which is also in this gallery.
