Beech Forest in Winter (1994)
This was shot in The Deister, a forest near Hannover Germany. It was late afternoon in mid-winter, and the low sun and moist air at such northern latitudes gives an incredible light. We spent all day walking through the forest and it may be the coldest I have ever been. My survival was due in large part to good German Schnapps.
